Fiscal Specialist
Overview: The District Attorney’s Office is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to fulfill the role of Fiscal Specialist. This position plays a role in assisting the Chief of Administration and Finance with operations of our office, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and effective communication across all financial matters. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
· Assist in all financial aspects of the District Attorney’s Office including but not limited to accounting standards and budgeting.
· In conjunction with the Chief of Administration and Finance, assist in the development and monitoring of annual budgets for the District Attorney's Office, assisting with annual fiscal Open/Close.
· Ensure compliance with all accounting standards, policies and Internal Controls relevant to the District Attorney’s Office.
· Manage encumbrances, accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate documentation and timely processing of invoices, payments and reimbursements with all office accounts.
· Assist with reconciliation of bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts on a regular basis under the supervision of the Chief of Administration and Finance.
· Serve as a point of contact for financial inquiries and provide support and guidance to vendors and staff members regarding financial matters including travel.
The Fiscal Specialist performs whatever other duties at whatever job-site as may from time to time be assigned to her/him by the District Attorney.
Fiscal Specialist is an employee of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and serves at the pleasure of the District Attorney.
In addition to these above responsibilities, the Fiscal Specialist is required:
The essential functions of the position require the effective ability to receive and distribute information in written, oral, and electronic form, in the English language.
MassDEP serves the Commonwealth by protecting natural resource areas that involve water, land and air. MassDEP is responsible for ensuring clean air and water, safe management and recycling of solid and hazardous wastes, timely cleanup of hazardous waste sites and spills, and the preservation of wetlands and coastal resources. MassDEP enforces environmental laws, provides technical assistance to cities and towns, issues permits and licenses for activities near sensitive resources, inspects contaminated site cleanups, and partners with other federal and state agencies, municipal officials and environmental stakeholders.
