The Business Institutional and Market Operations Chief Controls Office (BIMO CCO) is a first line of defence function that provides comprehensive and integrated risk services in support of the Business & Institutional Market Operations (BIMO).  The value proposition of BIMO CCO is to provide skilled, practical and efficient risk management to support the COO in the delivery of excellent business and customer outcomes.

Do work that matters:

The Chief Operations Office (COO) keeps the Bank running and powers our customer obsession. We are the process engine room supporting the fulfilment of a wide range of products for CBA’s Retail, Commercial and Institutional customers, along with running regulatory operations and Group regulatory projects.

The Market Operations (MO) team within COO is accountable for operations activities that support the Global Markets, Settlements, Trade Finance, Institutional Lending and Transaction Banking products for Institutional and Business Bank clients across Australia, Asia, Europe and North America.

The MO Line 1 Risk Team partners with MO as well as our product partners, Line 2 and Line 3 to advise on risk, compliance, control, and change, ensuring the safety of our organisation and customers. We do this by fostering a culture of risk awareness and sound risk management practices.

As Manager Risk, Controls and Enablement – Market Operations, your role contributes to this outcome including:

  • Act as a trusted risk advisor to Market Operations team leaders; build strong stakeholder relationships (Product Line 1, Line 2, audit).

  • Proactively identify and evaluate risks across processes, systems, and people, including during periods of change or transformation; design and manage effective controls.

  • Analyse root causes of issues and incidents; manage resolution and remediation.

  • Drive a proactive risk and control culture through collaboration.

  • Maintain accurate risk profiles and update for trigger events.

  • Ensure data quality and deliver accurate management reporting.

  • Critical Thinking & Data-Driven Insight: Applies analytical rigour and leverages data to solve problems and drive informed decisions.

  • Market Operations experience would be advantageous
