Primary Purpose

Do you have expertise in talent management and organizational effectiveness?  Would you like to join an organization where internal clients look forward to working with you?  If so, consider joining us!  The Talent Management and Organizational Development Principal is responsible for the effectiveness of talent and organizational development programs and practices for executive clients and their teams.  The successful candidate will have be part of a team of other highly skilled and passionate professionals to help ensure that ComEd’s leadership talent performs at its best.  
 

Note this is a hybrid position based in OakBrook Terrace IL. We work in the office Tuesdays-Thursday, and occasionally on Mondays and Fridays as needed for meetings.  There is also flexibility to work in our other corporate office locations across ComEd’s service territory, if business needs allow.


Primary Duties

  • Manage the business talent review, succession planning and other talent management processes including planning, session design, facilitation and reporting to support effective talent selection, development and management for assigned business unit. Assist business unit leaders to develop and implement a clear plan for ensuring that there is ready talent to meet strategic business objectives. (40%)
  • Manage the individual development planning process in assigned business unit (or assigned client groups). Build capability among leaders and employees to develop talent, particularly high potential talent, to support business strategy and goals. Provide coaching to leaders on the effective utilization of development tools such as job assignments, job rotations, assessments, development programs, training, and coaching and mentoring. (35%)
  • Serve as the organizational development point of contact for business unit clients. Work with business unit leaders to develop and implement programs and initiatives that respond to business critical needs. Manage the results planning process for the Exelon Employee Survey, providing analysis and recommendations to business leaders to drive organizational improvements. (15%)
  • Participate in and sometimes lead project teams to support the development and implementation of enterprise-wide management and leadership development processes and programs. (10%)

Job Scope

  • Operates independently with minimal direction from manager.
  • Interacts with client SVPs, VPs and Key Managers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Organizational Development, Business or related field. In lieu of Bachelor's degree, 9-12 years of relevant experience.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in HR-related functions that include management/leadership development and talent review.
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal direction from manager.
  • Demonstrated orientation to understanding the business and business strategy, and the ability to apply talent management process and tools to support strategic business objectives.
  • Demonstrated personal drive and sense of urgency pushing self and others for results; delivers on results despite obstacles.
  • Proven coaching and influence skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Psychology or related field
  • Experience with leadership talent assessment
  • Exceptional capacity for listening deeply and partnering with executives to align on shared objectives and strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate leadership strategy and team building sessions

  • Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $107,200.00/Yr. – $147,400.00/Yr.
