Senior Manager, Consulting | Columbia Hospitality

 We are seeking a Senior Manager, Consulting who will be responsible for leading small- to mid-sized client engagements autonomously while owning high-quality deliverables for a range of clients. This role serves as a primary point of contact for select clients, manages cross-functional project teams, and produces key deliverables such as concept decks, operational assessments, and budget planning inputs. 

The Senior Manager, Consulting must demonstrate strong hospitality operations knowledge, financial acumen, and the ability to collaborate across departments to bring subject-matter expertise into each engagement. This role supports strategic initiatives across multiple client types, contributes to internal template and process development, and helps drive revenue and value creation across consulting projects.

The Brass Tacks

  • Leads small- to mid-sized consulting engagements independently, from initial assessment through recommendation development, executive presentation and implementation support, serving as the primary point of contact for designated clients.
  • Manages project timelines, communication, and deliverables to ensure high-quality outcomes aligned with client expectations.
  • Fully owns the creation of client deliverables, including strategic decks, concept statements, budget outlines, operational recommendations, and business-case analyses.
  • Demonstrates operational and financial expertise, including understanding profit margins by department and evaluating opportunities for revenue and efficiency improvements.
  • Travels to client sites as needed to conduct assessments, facilitate workshops, and support implementation.
  • Builds and maintains strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and identifying opportunities for continued partnership.
  • Collaborates with Subject Matter Experts to successful engagements with short and long term clients.
  • Tracks client performance metrics, ROI on engagements, client satisfaction, and turnover statistics.
  • Prepares and delivers owner and leadership presentations in alignment with the agreed upon Scope of Work.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of hospitality trends to inform strategic decisions.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and brand standards in all marketing communicationss
  • Able to speak to and/or develop proformas and financial projections in partnership with internal SMEs.
  • Synthesizes operational, financial, and market data into clear, actionable insights.

 


The Nitty Gritty

  • 2+ years of experience in hotel operations, consulting, or marketing and sales roles within hospitality or adjacent industries
  • Prior experience in a management level role, with demonstrated understanding of labor management
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, develop insights and support recommendations
  • Proven experience building high impact presentation materials and visual narratives using a variety of tools and formats (e.g., slide decks, digital documents or other presentation platforms)
  • Prior experience or comfort presenting to owners, senior leaders and client executives
  • Independent judgment and discretion are important qualities as many duties performed are of a critical & confidential nature. Ability to remain neutral and represent the company, the leader, and the employee to promote a fair and equitable work environment.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to produce high quality work, be flexible, prioritize business demands, anticipate needs, be proactive, in adapting and responding to changing situations
  • Works well in both team oriented and autonomous environments 
  • Up to 30% travel may be required for this role
  • Seattle-based candidates are strongly preferred
