Position Summary

This position is responsible monitoring and maintaining production lines for short periods of time. Limited knowledge of troubleshooting and setup of production lines.  This position is able to complete the majority of auxiliary tasks without supervision.

 

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

Monitors and adjusts as required to ensure product quality
Monitors pressure readings to establish frequency for screen changes and/or detect product performance problems.
Conducts clean downs between products that may involve cleaning the screw, cleaning die, cleaning transfer pipes, cleaning water tank, the dryer and shaker.
Conducts proper start-up and shutdown procedures.
Conducts visual quality control inspection of product for pellet size, bulk density and pellet weight.
Troubleshoots minor mechanical problems and alerts Supervisor or Maintenance, as required.
A certified forklift operator.
Operates forklift for various tasks.
Ensures proper ticketing and labeling of boxes.
Lifts weights up to 55 lbs.
Works well independently as well as with others.
Wears all PPE as required by policies.
Attends scheduled safety training.
Follows all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Must maintain a clean work environment and be responsible for ensuring the production area is kept in respectable manner at all times.
Works various hours and overtime, as situations require.

Required Skills/Abilities

Must have demonstrated the ability to learn associated processes. 
Interpersonal skills required, must be able to work in a team environment. 
Ability to follow explicit instructions and to work independently as well as with others, a must. 

 

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required
Requires no prior experience, or less than one year of experience.
Previous exposure to forklift operation is strongly desired but not required.

Effort Required in the Position

Mental:

Mental effort in this position is primarily related to considerable attention to detail and volume of work, with requirements to process forms/work/information within a certain period of time.  May experience a moderate number of interruptions.  Some creativity may be involved to perform job tasks.
