Position Summary

Work Unit Description: The purpose of this position is to assist with research studies in the Healthspan Biology Lab. The position will assist with testing, data analysis, and lab organization. The position will also work to prepare figures for manuscripts, and to help develop and test hypotheses based on previous and current studies as needed. The position reports to the lab director.

Essential Job Duties 

  • Assist with laboratory testing and execution of research protocols.

  • Perform data entry, analysis, and preparation of research figures.

  • Maintain general lab organization, cleanliness, and supply inventory.

  • Support development and testing of research hypotheses under the lab director’s guidance.

  • Conduct standard wet lab procedures, including pipetting, gel electrophoresis, and RNA/DNA assays.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficiency with general wet laboratory techniques, including pipetting, gel electrophoresis, RNA and DNA assays,  general laboratory maintenance, and data analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with animal (mouse) research models, including basic handling and research study assistance

Salary Range

$24.00 - $25.00
