ABOUT THIS POSITION
Summary: Are you interested in teaching the
next generation of dental hygienists? If you are, then CMU Tech is looking for
someone like you to join our team. This
position is a full-time faculty position beginning in February 2026.
This is a new dental hygiene program that is heavily sought by the local dental community. Our program is uniquely designed to accommodate students who need a non-traditional schedule.
The successful candidate will teach online and in-classroom dental hygiene courses as assigned, including but not limited to Introduction to Dental Hygiene, Dental Medical Emergencies, Dental Pathophysiology, Preclinical and Clinical dental hygiene, Dental Hygiene Theory, Dental Periodontics, Head and Neck anatomy, Community Dental Health, General and Oral Pathology, Applied Dental Pharmacology, and National Boards Review.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Teach course load assigned
- Evaluate courses and assess student learning outcomes
- Comply with department guidelines and college policies
- Develop rapport with students that is professional and encourages teacher/student communication
- Assist with program review
- Assist in course and curriculum development
- Work collaboratively with clinical instructor
- Maintain at least 5 hours of office hours per week
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
The FT instructor must be a dental
hygienist who is a graduate of a program accredited by the Commission on Dental
Accreditation and possesses a bachelor’s degree. The applicant must have a
background in education and the professional experience necessary to understand
and fulfill the program goals. Will accept experience within a professional dentistry-type
setting for formal classroom experience.
