Job DetailsJob Location: McKinney, TX 75069Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeSalary Range: $21.63 HourlyThe Quality Manager for Behavioral Health provides Quality Management (QM) activities for a Behavioral Health Agency serving adult and children with mental illness and chemical dependency. Under the general direction of the Quality Management Supervisor the Quality Manager performs a variety of professional quality management activities in an environment of Continuous Quality Improvement. This position is responsible for quality management within the Behavioral Health Division as well as support for regulatory and compliance activities to ensure that services provided are in accordance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements within a trauma informed and person driven care model. Essential duties include:
Performs Quality Management Reviews and other supportive activities including Health Record Reviews, Incident Investigations, Form Development, Performance Measures and other data collection related to quality indicators, and Complaint Management.
Analyzes review findings, provides recommendations for areas of improvement, and collaborates with supervisory workforce to find and implement quality initiatives.
Provides education, technical assistance, and support to the BH Division as needed to assist the Division in meeting Quality and Performance Standards.
Reviews TAC, Health and Safety Code, contracts, and other sources regularly to ensure that Policy and Procedures follow current standards and makes recommendations for updates as needed.
Ensures consistent application of the UM Guidelines, Quality Management (QM) Guidelines, and processes.
Works under the supervision of the Quality Management Supervisor and ensures effective communication regarding QM operations, performance, and areas of needed improvement.
Performs other related job duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation, Training, & Experience (including licensure & certification)
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field from a four-year university.
Bachelor’s degree must meet Texas Administrative Code requirements for a Qualified Mental Health Professional-Clinical Services (QMHP-CS).
May have a Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
Required three years of clinical experience in the treatment of individuals with mental illness and/or chemical dependence. If a shorter time the individual’s experience and aptitude to learn and perform role well quickly will be taken into consideration.
Preferred having at least two years of utilization and/or quality experience.
Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, procedures and practices related to quality assurance, quality management, and utilization review.
Experience in data collection and analysis.
Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies, tools, and techniques
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret data and general meaningful insights.
Proficient in creating, managing, manipulating, and analyzing Excel spreadsheets.
Demonstrated ability to apply to Quality Management Guidelines and processes consistently.
Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative relationships with key interfacing agency workforce members.
Self-starter who works closely with all team members and takes initiative in completing tasks.
Demonstrated ability to ensure effective communication regarding Quality Management operations, performance, and areas in need of improvement.
Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Knowledge of the social services system and the ability to guide workforce members in connecting individuals with appropriate services.
Knowledge of the current version of the Diagnostic Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
Organized, detail oriented, computer proficient, and able to write clearly and professionally.
Ability to respond to individuals with patience, empathy, and understanding.
