About this role

Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an experienced Department Manager in Philadelphia, PA that will utilize leadership and GIS related skills to manage multiple projects, train support staff, and generate projects for their region.

 

This position requires strong leadership, profitability, and client management for the project design team, including financial performance, preparation of technical proposals and invoices, monitoring of project budgets, staff supervision, scheduling of projects, and responsibility for staff guidance on project assignments. Must have good communication skills and the ability to work alongside multi-department office staff and senior management to successfully support GIS project tasks from those departments, within established budgets and deadlines.


Responsibilities

  • Reviews and manages operations to ensure the quality of the technical products.
  • Establishes effective long-range objectives, goals, and plans for assigned team.
  • Provides technical and management leadership to the assigned team.
  • Develops marketing program in conjunction with discipline goals.
  • Reviews monthly productivity and labor hour utilization-rates, reports and makes adjustments as needed.
  • Assigns projects to staff and schedules work.
  • Evaluate Employee Performance in accordance with company policy.
  • Responsible to maintain backlog for staff assigned.
  • Responsible for the hiring of all Discipline staff within their team.
  • Develops the skills and abilities of staff which are necessary for the successful execution of the work.
  • Utilize the company standard GIS procedures and participate in developing new/enhanced procedures.
  • Perform direct report annual and midyear reviews, responsible for setting career path goals with staff members, and ensuring those goals can be achieved through mentoring.
  • Active involvement with marketing and business development.
  • Ensures compliance with and enforces company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • MS Geographic Information Systems, BS Geographic Information Science, Environmental Science, Geology, Geography.
  • Professional Geographic Information Systems (GISP).
  • 10-15+ years of GIS experience.
  • Experience with project management for PA & NJ Federal, State, County and Local Government clients required.
  • Deep knowledge of utilizing ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise for project deliverables required.
  • Specialized Experience in any of the Esri Extension should be noted in your response.
  • Esri App Builders Experience and ArcGIS Developer knowledge.
  • Esri Apps related to ArcGIS Field Maps, StoryMaps, Survey123, Workforce.
  • Experience with GPS Data Collection processes utilizing ArcGIS Apps.
  • Understanding of Regional Utility and Regulations.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
