About this role

Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is currently seeking a Department Manager to join our Water Resources team in Ohio! To be considered, we ask that candidates are a licensed professional engineer.  

 

Water is the most plentiful, yet critical resource on the planet. Our water resources professionals specialize in critical practice areas, understand watershed dynamics and offer an extensive range of water resource planning and design experience, flood risk management, dam safety and environmental compliance. Our holistic approach to water resources projects ensures the best outcome for our clients and the ecosystem.


Responsibilities

  • Review and manage department operations to ensure the quality of the technical products.
  • Establish effective long-range objectives, goals, and plans for the water resources team. 
  • Provide technical and management leadership.
  • Develop a marketing program in conjunction with discipline goals. 
  • Advise and assist professionals in other disciplines when expert knowledge and expertise as required. 
  • Manage activities so an adequate profit is earned on all water resources projects. 
  • Review monthly productivity and labor hour utilization-rates, reports, and adjust as needed.
  • Assign projects to staff and schedules work. 
  • Evaluate employee performance in accordance with company policy. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
  • 12+ years of progressive water resources engineering experience is required.
  • PE license is required (or through reciprocity). 
  • Demonstrated effective leadership, delegation, and strategic thinking skills are highly preferred.
  • Proven experience and in-depth knowledge of business development, proposals, and the design, management and delivery of water resources projects. 
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
