About the team

 

Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.

 

 

About the role

 

 

This role is required to work as part of the media product squad to deliver on key project initiatives that will impact the Coles ecosystem. This role is critical with set delivery deadlines throughout the year and a top priority to the business. As a senior engineer you will play a pivotal role in building GraphQL APIs.

 

 

Experience

 

  • Senior software engineer with at least 10 years’ experience
  • Experience in TypeScript and GraphQL essential
  • Expertise in React, JavaScript, TypeScript, REST APIs, and other modern web technologies
  • At least 3 years’ experience leading a team of developers
  • Experience working in large scale projects and heavy-traffic platforms
  • Ability to drive and enforce software engineering practices
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Good exposure to Agile Scrum working environments
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Great people person and excellent communication skills

 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Drive the engineering team to develop delivery goals within agreed timeline
  • Facility Agile Scrum practices within the team, offer support to delivery managers in defining timelines and project requirements
  • Facilitate and govern peer reviews and testing standards whilst empowering and developing the engineering team’s skills
  • Grow a culture that elicits a high-performing team and a enjoyable working environment
  • Working collaboratively with the Business Stakeholders, and Business Programme Managers and Implementation partners to ensure delivery success
