About the team

Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.

About the Role

As a Project Manager, you will deliver complex AI projects spanning multiple business and IT areas to achieve business objectives. You will partner with Data & AI and Security Compliance teams to deliver enterprise-scale AI transformation initiatives that modernise Coles’ digital ecosystem, optimise operational performance, and elevate customer and team member experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• AI Project Delivery: Lead end-to-end AI transformation projects from strategy to implementation, ensuring alignment with Coles’ digital roadmap
• Scope Management: Define and manage requirements and expectations with senior stakeholders
• Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans and drive digital accessibility across all assets
• Schedule Management: Manage multiple streams of work and dependencies
• Financial Management: Forecast and manage budgets for complex scenarios
• Quality Management: Implement robust quality assurance processes
• Risk & Issue Management: Identify and mitigate risks across diverse stakeholders
• Procurement: Manage vendor and strategic partner arrangements
• Team Management: Lead diverse and dispersed teams, fostering capability development
• Governance & Reporting: Manage steering committees and ensure strong governance
• Change & Adoption: Drive business adoption of AI tools and workflows

About you and your skills:

• Extensive commercial experience in IT or digital project management, including in AI transformation or AI/ML delivery programs (Azure ML preferred)
• Proven delivery of high-value Data & AI initiatives ($2m–$10m budgets)
• Experience leading cross-functional teams including AI engineers, data scientists, and external partners
• Strong background in agile delivery and modern project management frameworks
• Experience managing data privacy, security, and ethical AI governance
