Primary Duties & Responsibilities
1. Training Program Development & Delivery
- Develop, implement, and maintain structured training programs using Training Within Industry (TWI) methodologies, including Job Instruction (JI), Job Methods (JM), and Job Relations (JR).
- Conduct hands-on training in IR optics processes: CMP, fine grinding, CNC polishing, beveling, centering, and milling.
- Develop and maintain job instructions, work instructions, SOPs, and visual aids for operator use.
- Deliver training for new hires, process updates, skill refreshers, and cross-training initiatives.
2. Training Needs Analysis & Skills Management
- Generate Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to identify skill gaps and prioritize training programs.
- Maintain skills matrix data, track competencies, and monitor trainee performance against defined metrics.
- Coordinate calendar management for training sessions, including scheduling, resources, and operator availability.
3. ISO Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure all training records, certifications, and documentation are maintained in compliance with ISO quality standards and internal procedures.
- Safekeep and audit training records, ensuring traceability and readiness for audits.
4. Trainee Performance & Evaluation
- Monitor trainee performance, conduct assessments, and provide feedback to improve competency.
- Analyze training effectiveness using production performance metrics, defect reduction data, and operator assessments.
- Implement corrective actions for skill gaps and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
5. Lean Manufacturing & Process Support
- Support Lean initiatives, process standardization, and process error-proofing (poka-yoke) through operator training.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure process compliance and efficiency.
- Act as a technical resource for operators regarding IR optics processes, equipment operation, and troubleshooting.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in production or technical training, preferably in IR optics or precision optics manufacturing.
- Hands-on familiarity with IR optics fabrication processes: CMP, fine grinding, CNC polishing, beveling, centering, milling.
- Experience with Training Within Industry (TWI) methodology, including Job Instruction and Job Methods.
- Experience in ISO-compliant documentation management, training record keeping, and skills matrix tracking.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, process standardization, and operator error-proofing.

Working Conditions
- 100% on-site role in an IR optics manufacturing facility.
- Hands-on training in production areas, cleanroom environments, and machine shops.
- May require flexible hours to accommodate shift schedules, production ramp-ups, or urgent process trainings.
- Compliance with safety, ESD, and cleanroom protocols is mandatory.
