About the role

As a webMethods Functional Architect, you will make an impact by designing, architecting, and implementing integration-driven solutions that enhance transportation management and logistics operations. With your expertise in webMethods SAG integration patterns and cloud services, you will ensure seamless API lifecycle management and solution design.

In this role, you will

• Lead the design and implementation of end-to-end integration solutions using Software AG webMethods, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with business needs.

• Oversee system integration architecture, applying advanced integration patterns and solution designs to optimize transportation and logistics workflows.

• Drive API lifecycle management and REST API implementation, ensuring seamless data exchange, interoperability, and governance across systems.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable technical specifications and future-focused solution designs.

• Utilize cloud services and cloud architectural fundamentals to build robust, hybrid, and scalable integration solutions.

• Foster continuous improvement by identifying new technologies and modern integration methodologies.

What you need to succeed (Required skills)

• Expertise in Software AG webMethods and strong command of integration patterns and solution design.

• Practical knowledge of cloud basics and cloud provider services as they apply to integration architecture.

• Proficiency in JSON, REST APIs, and full API lifecycle management.

• Ability to translate complex business requirements into well-structured technical specifications and collaborate effectively with technical and non‑technical teams.

• Exposure to DevOps practices for integration (monitoring, CI/CD pipelines).

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a distributed team environment.

Working Arrangements

We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client office in Alpharetta, GA. Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $138,000 – 162,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
