Temenos Transact Data Migration Specialist

Location: Birmingham, AL, USA
Work model: Onsite (client / Cognizant location in Birmingham, AL) — in‑person collaboration with Business & Operations is required.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Temenos Transact (T24) Data Migration Specialist to lead and execute end‑to‑end migration activities across Holdings, TEP, and TDH data domains. The ideal candidate can work independently with Business and Operations teams, translate requirements into robust data mapping and migration designs, and drive iterative test migrations through to a clean, auditable cutover. Familiarity with ETL pipelines and strong communication skills are essential.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Partner with Business/Operations SMEs to elicit and refine data migration requirements, run discovery workshops, and document source‑to‑target rules and non‑functional needs (volumes, SLAs, auditability).
  • Own the data mapping for Temenos Transact (T24) canonical models across Holdings, TEP, and TDH, including transformation logic, enrichment, and reference/market data linkages.
  • Design and orchestrate migration pipelines (profiles, extraction, cleansing/standardization, transformation, load, verification) and support ETL implementation.
  • Plan and execute trial migrations/dress rehearsals, reconcile record‑level and aggregate balances, and drive defect triage to closure with SMEs and engineering. Best practices include early profiling/cleansing, multiple test runs, and phased cutover with a tested rollback plan.
  • Define and implement data validation & reconciliation (queries, control totals, sampling, automated checks) and produce clear migration runbooks and operational handover assets. Cognizant playbooks emphasize repeatability, governance, and quality gates across assessment → profiling → mapping → transformation → verification.
  • Collaborate closely with Temenos product/tech teams on TDH ingestion patterns and TEP integration touchpoints; manage dependencies and environments for parallel runs.
  • Communicate status, risks, and decisions crisply to senior stakeholders; maintain RAID, cutover plans, and audit trails.

What You’ll Bring (Qualifications)

Must‑have

  • Hands‑on Temenos Transact (T24) data migration experience, with strong exposure to Holdings, TEP, and TDH.
  • Proven ability to work independently with Business/Operations to translate requirements into mapping specs and executable migration designs.
  • Solid SQL skills and comfort analyzing large datasets for profiling, data quality, and reconciliation.
  • Demonstrated experience running trial migrations, performing reconciliations, and supporting cutover in core‑banking programs. Best‑practice orientation toward early data analysis, iterative testing, and governance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; clear documentation and walkthroughs for SMEs and engineers.

Good to have

  • Experience implementing/operating ETL pipelines (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Talend, SSIS) and working with CI/CD‑enabled data workloads.
  • Familiarity with Temenos Data Hub (TDH) event streams, TEP integration patterns, and data lineage/catalog practices.
  • Knowledge of banking data domains (customers, parties, accounts/deposits, payments, securities/wealth) and regulatory expectations for data traceability.
  • Exposure to data quality tooling, automated validation frameworks, and migration runbook orchestration. Cognizant accelerators emphasize repeatability, automation, and quality gates.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in data migration or data engineering, including 3+ years specifically on Temenos Transact (T24) migrations (Holdings/TEP/TDH).

Success Metrics

  • Clean, reconciled loads across Holdings/TEP/TDH within agreed SLAs.
  • Zero critical audit findings on lineage, controls, and traceability.
  • On‑time completion of dress rehearsals and production cutover with a validated rollback plan.
