About the role
As a Senior Test automation, you will make an impact by designing, innovating, and scaling test automation frameworks that enhance product quality and engineering efficiency. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with developers, business analysts, project managers, and cross functional partners to ensure seamless delivery across platforms.

In this role, you will:
•    Lead the design and development of scalable, robust test automation frameworks across multiple platforms.
•    Drive innovation in automation tools, techniques, and processes to continually improve testing efficiency.
•    Integrate test suites with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
•    Conduct proof of concepts (PoCs) and feasibility studies for new automation tools and approaches.
•    Establish meaningful metrics and reporting mechanisms to measure automation effectiveness.
•    Lead QA activities across both functional and automation testing workstreams.
•    Work closely with business analysts, developers, and project managers to understand requirements and define detailed testing scope.
•    Create and maintain test strategies, test plans, and test estimations.

What you need to have to be considered
•    8+ years of experience in automation testing and quality engineering.
•    Strong hands on expertise with: 
      o    Playwright (Mandatory)
      o    Karate Framework for API testing (Mandatory)
      o    AWS Cloud (Mandatory)
•    Experience with: 
     o    Generative AI (Preferred)
     o    Cucumber / BDD
     o    Core Java
     o    Typescript
•    Demonstrated experience in framework creation, solution development, and technical leadership.
•    Strong understanding of CI/CD toolchains (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
•    Proven ability to collaborate with cross functional teams and lead end to end QA initiatives.

These will help you stand out
Insurance domain knowledge (Commercial Business)—a plus, but not mandatory.
Prior experience leading automation teams in large‑scale, distributed development environments.
Strong analytical skills and a passion for continuous improvement and innovation in QA processes.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $71,100– $112,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
