About the role

As a Senior QA Automation Engineer with Playwright Expertise, you will make an impact by ensuring the delivery of high-quality applications through robust manual and automated testing practices. You will be a valued member of our Quality Engineering team, collaborating closely with developers, product owners, and project stakeholders to drive excellence across the software development lifecycle.

In this role, you will:

·       Represent the Quality Engineering team throughout the project lifecycle, including grooming, sprint planning, defect triage, risk mitigation, and root cause analysis.

·       Design and execute test strategies, including manual and automated testing, in-sprint automation, and regression testing.

·       Actively participate in requirements grooming sessions to ensure clear acceptance criteria and comprehensive test coverage.

·       Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Playwright and other tools, ensuring scalability and efficiency.

·       Serve as a Subject Matter Expert, providing guidance to team members and driving continuous process improvements.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Richardson, TX. What you need to have to be considered

·       5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance within Agile environments.

·       Hands-on experience in both manual and automation testing.

·       Expertise in Playwright is a must, including the ability to design frameworks from scratch.

·       Strong skills in SQL and Core Java.

·       Experience with Cucumber BDD, Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, Maven, GitHub, and Jenkins.

·       Ability to manage multiple initiatives in high-pressure environments.

·       Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Proven ability to lead QA initiatives and mentor team members.

Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to quality improvements.

Experience in translating QA, UAT, and business scenarios into automated regression test cases.

Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery practices.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until January 30th, 2026

The annual salary for this position is between $53,477 to 92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
