Role Overview
Seeking a seasoned Business Process Management (BPM) Consultant with 10+ years of experience in driving process transformation, workflow design, and operational optimization across Banking, Capital Markets, and Financial Services. The role involves partnering with business stakeholders to translate functional requirements into scalable process workflows, improve operational efficiency, and support transformation initiatives using BPM platforms such as Appian and IBM BAW.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with business and operations teams to understand process challenges, define functional requirements, and design end‑to‑end workflows that improve efficiency and control.
  • Lead process discovery workshops, document current‑state and future‑state workflows, define business rules, and shape process improvements.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure translation of business needs into BPM configurations, user journeys, UI forms, integrations, and case workflows.
  • Drive requirements gathering, backlog prioritization, sprint planning, and functional oversight in Agile delivery environments.
  • Support creation of business documentation including BRDs, process maps, user stories, acceptance criteria, and test scenarios.
  • Serve as a functional SME for BPM initiatives, advising on best practices, process governance, exception handling, and workflow optimization.
  • Partner with QA teams to ensure functional coverage, scenario validation, and smooth UAT cycles.
  • Provide functional leadership during production rollout and stabilization; guide enhancements and continuous improvements.
  • Mentor team members and contribute to process standards, governance frameworks, and operational playbooks.

Experience & Skills

  • Strong understanding of business process flows across Payments, Capital Markets operations, Customer Onboarding, and KYC/Operational workflows.
  • Extensive experience partnering with business stakeholders to capture requirements and convert them into BPM‑based process solutions.
  • Proven ability to lead functional discussions, facilitate workshops, and shape process transformation initiatives.
  • Hands‑on familiarity with BPM tools (Appian, IBM BAW/BPM) is a plus, primarily for understanding capabilities—not for deep technical development.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and process‑design skills with experience in improving efficiency, usability, and workflow performance.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
