About this role

Central Plains Co-op is recruiting for the position of Full-Time Produce Clerk for our Marketplace Food Store located in Rosetown, Saskatchewan.


The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day operations of the Produce Department supporting the Manager.  This position requires lifting of heavy boxes of produce up to 50lbs.  Stocking produce, unloading product and putting it in the appropriate place, value added merchandise (fruit and vegetable trays, ready to use produces, etc.). Looking after floral displays. Cleaning and sanitizing the cutting table and room, cleaning  the produce area, keeping all areas clear of debris.  Culling, stocking and restocking the produce counter as necessary.

- Works under direct supervision within established policies, practices and guidelines of the Produce Department with minimal deviation
- Incorporates changes made  into the day-to-day Produce Department work plan
Service Delivery
- Understands the day-to-day basic support needs of the Produce Department including the floral area.
- Executes basic operational, or customer support tasks under direct supervision
- Responds to basic task-related inquiries related to the Produce Department
Relationships
- Interacts and develops working relationships with team members
- Exchange/record task-related information with the Produce Manager and Team
Problem Solving
- Resolves well-defined and standard operational, or customer support issues within standard operating procedures and refers issues outside of established procedures to The Produce Manager
Continuous Improvement/Innovation
- May provide input into specific job-related process improvements with the Produce Manager
- Learns and implements basic policies, procedures, quality, and compliance standards
Decision Making
- Limited decision making within defined parameters around work expectations, quality standards, priorities, and timing
Risk Management
- Responds to risks in accordance with established guidelines/procedures/practices.                                               -Able to lift heavy boxes up to 50lbs using proper lifting techniques.
- Identifies and notifies Produce Manager of risks; obtains assistance from available resources as required
Scope of Knowledge, Work & Experience
- Entry level role performing basic day-to-day produce support 
- Applies knowledge to perform well-defined or routine tasks
- Typically holds a minimum of a High School Diploma.
