Drive the financial success of Canada’s affordable housing initiatives. As a Senior Account Manager, Construction Finance in our Vancouver office, you will be deeply involved in executing the CMHC Apartment Construction Loan Program (ACLP). Your expertise will govern key activities, including project-specific underwriting, structuring complex loans, securing necessary approvals, and managing the detailed process of loan advances and construction monitoring.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the active management and sophisticated underwriting of high-impact ACLP lending opportunities, positioning projects for successful execution and funding.
  • Function as the authoritative primary liaison, expertly managing all communications and interactions between the CMHC team and external borrowers/developers.
  • Prepare comprehensive credit submissions for recommendation to the CMLS Credit Committee and meticulously manage the fulfillment of all conditions precedent for loan funding.
  • Control project finances by strictly reviewing, preparing, and validating construction loan draws to ensure adherence to budgetary and Loan Commitment Letter requirements.
  • Provide advisory support, offering expert procedural guidance to new ACLP applicants, alongside performing Portfolio Management assistance and Credit reviews. 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in business administration, accounting, finance, real estate, or a related field.
  • A genuine passion for commercial real estate and a drive to contribute to complex financing projects.
  • Five (5) years of experience in construction finance and/or commercial underwriting
  • You possess the unique ability to seamlessly build strong relationships with both external borrowers/developers and internal partners, utilizing exceptional negotiation, presentation, and conflict management skills.
  • You operate with a high degree of ownership and commitment, demonstrating the discipline and organizational skills needed to manage multiple, high-priority tasks simultaneously.
  • Highly results-driven with an unwavering attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all underwriting and finance activities.
