The Project Engineer Intern position will assist and support multiple Project Managers and Superintendents in coordinating and managing electrical construction projects. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards

 

Locations: San Diego, CA, Ontario, CA and Pleasanton, CA 

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager/Project Managers with the pre-project planning process
  • Assist with tasks required to develop the maintenance of budgets. This includes reviewing field timesheets, material invoices, and monitoring progress.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of purchase orders, purchase order modifications, subcontracts, subcontract modifications, and requests for information (RFI’s).
  • Assist in the preparation and management of change orders in Accubid Change Order Pro. (We understand that this may require training in both estimating and with the Accubid Change Order Pro estimating system).
  • Help update construction documents, and distribution of the same to vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors throughout the life cycle of a project.
  • Ability to review and comprehend project plans, specifications, and contract requirements, and updating and modifying the same throughout the course of the project.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and assist internal teams to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations, codes, and industry standards.
  • Travel required to conduct site visits to assist in monitoring progress and maintaining quality control.
  • Assist the Project Manager and Superintendents with material procurement and coordination.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled bachelor’s degree program such as Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Previous Internship or construction experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong interest in commercial construction and/or electrical systems.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with construction software like Bluebeam, Procore, or AutoCAD is a plus.

  • Willingness to work both in the office and visit active job sites.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a proactive mindset.

  • Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites and/or the office.

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Posted Salary Range

USD $18.00 - USD $25.00 /Hr.
