CLP Power has embarked on a journey to becoming a “Utility of the Future” which is customer-centric, agile and digitally-enabled. The company is launching strategic transformation initiatives across the business in which next generation technologies will play a pivotal role. We are looking for passionate engineer to join the Transmission Network Operations Optimization (TNOO) project team.
TNOO is a real-time control computer system that will monitor and control the transmission power network of CLP Power Hong Kong. It will be a state of the art system designed to meet the Company’s goals of Digitalization, Decentralization and Decarbonization.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the appointee will undertake the following major duties:
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Engineer to prepare system specifications and review tendering documents for TNOO project
- Support Engineer to handle technical issues of TNOO infrastructure design, implementation, testing / acceptance, including Windows & Linux system administration, Active Directory service, Database, Virtual server, Backup, computer network, firewall and etc
- Ensure the TNOO are commissioned on time, and to the required standard by proper project planning and scheduling, co-ordination, progress monitoring and supervising the equipment installation, testing and commissioning activities
- Manage external contractors to complete site installation and implementation
- Prepare documents to support operation and maintenance activities, and to meet the requirements of CLP Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity Standard and Safety, Health, Environment & Quality Standard
- Perform any other duties while rotated to another branch/section as and when required
Requirements:
- A recognized University Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related disciplines
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in software engineering of IT / OT systems, or Windows system administration, or other relevant software works
- Proficient in computer system implementation and administration, software programming, and computer networking
- Good problem solving skills and strong analytical abilities
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with good spoken and written English
- Microsoft certifications / CCNA or equivalent certifications would be an advantage
- A fast learner with ability to work independently and meet tight deadline
- Proactive and results oriented
Candidates with less qualification and/or experience but demonstrating good potential for further development will be considered for a position at lower grade.
