Quality Engineer

Cleveland-Cliffs is currently seeking a qualified Engineer to join our Cleveland Works Quality team at the facility in Cleveland, Ohio. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the production of high-quality steel products, including hot-rolled steel, cold-reduced galvanized, and galvannealed coated products, serving the automotive, appliance, and other industrial markets.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Input steel routings into plant manufacturing systems
• Update databases pertaining to part entry
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the company (ex. Sales, Quality, Operations, and others)
• Serve as a point of contact for inquiries related to customer specs
• Provide support for Quality Management initiatives
• Conduct data analysis to assess and improve product capability
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science related engineering field.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Demonstrated problem-solving and leadership capabilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Effective typing and data entry skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering.
• 2+ years of relevant experience
• Data reporting and/or programming experience
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems
• Experience working in a unionized environment

Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.  

The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $92,500.  An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
