Underground Utilities Construction Superintendent
Project: Package Plant Installation
Location: Lampe, MO
Duration: Approximately 3 Months (Project-Based)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Underground Utilities Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations for a package wastewater treatment plant installation in Lampe, Missouri. This position is responsible for the day-to-day supervision, coordination, and execution of underground utility construction activities, ensuring the project is completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with project plans and specifications.
This is a short-term (3 months), project-specific role ideal for a superintendent with strong utility, civil, and plant installation experience.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise all underground utility construction activities, including but not limited to:
Sanitary sewer
Water lines
Force mains
Lift station tie-ins
Site piping related to package plant installation
Coordinate installation of package treatment plant components in conjunction with mechanical, electrical, and subcontracted crews.
Interpret and enforce project plans, specifications, and permits.
Manage daily field operations, including:
Crew scheduling and task assignments
Coordination with subcontractors, inspectors, and vendors
Sequencing of work to meet project milestones
Maintain strict adherence to safety standards, OSHA regulations, and company safety policies.
Conduct daily safety meetings and job site inspections.
Coordinate inspections with local authorities, engineers, and owners.
Track project progress and report schedule updates to project management.
Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and constructability challenges.
Ensure quality control of installed utilities and plant infrastructure.
Maintain accurate daily reports, timekeeping, and documentation.
Oversee site logistics, materials delivery, and equipment utilization.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a superintendent or lead foreman on underground utilities or civil construction projects.
Demonstrated experience with wastewater infrastructure, preferably package plant installations or treatment facility work.
Strong knowledge of:
Underground utility installation methods
Excavation and trench safety
Utility testing and commissioning processes
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
OSHA 30 (preferred).
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage a fast-paced, short-duration project.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Experience
Prior experience with municipal or rural utility projects.
Familiarity with Missouri utility standards and inspection processes.
Experience coordinating with mechanical and electrical contractors on plant installations.
Work Conditions
Outdoor construction environment.
Extended hours may be required to meet project schedule.
Physical ability to walk jobsite, inspect work, and interact with crews daily.

QualificationsQualifications:
Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent, preferably in the water and wastewater utilities sector.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations specific to water and wastewater infrastructure.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficient in construction management software and other relevant tools.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate project teams.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
