HouseSmart Construction – CDL Driver I

HouseSmart’s CDL Driver I will be pulling and assisting with the set of Clayton’s manufactured homes. Assisting with the set of the homes includes tasks like identifying, directing, and helping trim trees, as an example, so this isn’t your typical driver position. The CDL Driver I position allows you the benefits of driving with your CDL while also allowing you to get out of the toter and get hands-on with various tasks and responsibilities.  

What You’ll Be Doing: 

• Consistently work to be as safe a driver as possible, helping ensure the safe and efficient delivery of customers' dream homes with our team daily. 
• Assist leadership in thinking through best ways to move and set homes including finding best routes, maneuvering around set obstacles like telephone poles, etc.  
• Be a team player; jump in and help with varies pieces of the transportation or site preparation for the home.  
• Become familiar with jobsite equipment including the house tug, jadde, platypus, etc.  
• ·Always be looking ahead, anticipating needs of the team and project, problem solving for the best solutions possible alongside the Transportation Supervisor or Hub leadership.    
• Making a family’s dream come true and delivering their home! 

When You’ll Be Doing It: 

• Full-time, Monday through Friday – Say goodbye to weeks on the road!

Pay:

• $72,500/yr + based on experience
• Paid Weekly

What Could Make You a Great Fit: 

• You have 2+ years’ experience driving with a CDL – huge plus if you have any experience pulling a manufactured home.  
• Minimal to no driving infractions, especially as it relates to DOT inspections, speeding, handheld device usage, etc.  
• Experience with scheduling a plus.  
• Ability to move and lift up to 50 lbs. safely.
• You have a positive attitude and always work to be a team player.  
• Experience operating various machines and the ability to quickly learn new machines like our specialty equipment listed above a plus.
