About this role

Job Overview:

 

Execute the creative for projects and assignments within the Global Region Marketing function. The Graphic Designer, through the creation of the omni marketing communication materials, puts forward the face of the brand to the consumer. As such, they must understand the brand personality, work within established brand guidelines, bring a sense of ‘freshness’ to every project, and deliver to the highest brand standards.

 

Responsibilities:

  • With the Group Marketing Director’s oversight, the design and execution of a variety of omni marketing communication materials, including in store graphics/signage, direct mail, and digital assets for the retail, wholesale, and ecommerce channels.
  • Work with a variety of ‘clients’ (marketing, retail ops, product, wholesale reps) to set expectations and manage objectives of project.
  • Present a range of ‘creative concepts’ per project, influencing customers on creative concept to ensure materials are consistent with global brand standards.
  • Leverage/adapt globally or regionally created assets for marketing projects, as appropriate.
  • Responsible for overall quality and presentation of work. Formulate layout design or presentation approach, and specify material details, such as style and size of type, photographs, and graphics.
  • Generate new ideas and stay informed and engaged on new techniques, mediums, best practices and what other brands are doing.
  • Creative execution for channel work for the following:
    • Clarks and Cloudsteppers brand retail marketing pack: in-store windows, signage, direct mail, digital, local marketing, promotions
    • Wholesale account omni retail marketing pack (in-store windows, signage, digital, direct mail, events)
    • Brand initiatives
    • CRM print direct mail, in-store signage
    • Ecommerce creative assets

 

  • Additional duties and responsibilities as management sees fit and ability to back up designers when needed.
  • Creative, consistent marketing communication materials which support campaign objectives and overall brand messaging objectives.
  • All finished work is consistent with brand objectives and guidelines.
  • Strong editing skills ensuring finished product is on message and maintains brand standards.
  • High standard of creative work is delivered that meets the brief and sits within brand and visual guidelines. Ensure Clarks and Cloudsteppers remain at the forefront of design best practices and can take advantage of new developments as they occur. Design concepts that reflect the latest cultural, fashion, typographic and graphic trends where relevant.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in design
  • Principles of graphic design, composition, layout, photography, fonts, typography
  • Understanding of branding principles, how they have applied “brand” thinking in examples listed above
  • Understanding attitudes of Clarks and Cloudsteppers target consumers
  • Knowledge of key competitor marketing communications and graphic design strategy
  • 2+ years’ experience and portfolio of work, footwear or consumer goods marketing design work preferred
  • Portfolio of work to show that includes - advertising, omni consumer communications, trade communications, e-commerce, etc.
  • Experience delivering projects on time and on budget
  • Created successful graphic design work from brief through to finished product
  • Extensive experience creating a variety of marketing communication digital materials
  • Experience working with global consumer brands
  • Must have advanced knowledge in current graphic and web design software (Adobe Creative Cloud)
  • Ability to design for print and web based platforms
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word, PPT, Excel
  • Must have knowledge of print production - how to prepress files based on industry standards, work with vendors to upload files via FTP
  • Requires an understanding of printing processes, color matching systems, cross-browser and cross platform issues, typography and layout composition
  • Development of original design concepts
  • Able to use typography to get the given message across and within the brand guidelines
