About this role

Job Overview

 

Assist the Global Store Design team with the creation of 2D and 3D CAD drawings, space planning and design documentation.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Assist in producing 2D & 3D CAD drawings under the direction of the Global Store Designer.
  • Help prepare visual representations of store environments using standard templates and tools.
  • Contribute to outline feasibility and design intent packages by assisting with space planning and layout preparation.
  • Translate provided area measurements into initial draft layouts using established design principles.
  • Ensure design packs are saved, filed, and formatted correctly.
  • Provide assistance in drafting standard technical details and construction elements for project packs.
  • Help update the live project tracking document and distribute it to relevant teams as instructed.
  • Contribute to the preparation of clear, easy-to-understand design documentation that supports decision-making.
  • Ensure files and presentation decks are aligned with brand formatting and standards.
  • Actively seek to improve CAD skills, design principles knowledge, and construction understanding through training.

 

Qualifications

 

Essential Knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of 2D space layout planning and construction detailing
  • Working knowledge of 3D modelling & visualization
  • Up to date with store design trends and internal standards.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Autodesk AutoCAD
  • Basic application of SketchUp & V-Ray rendering
  • Basic understanding of technical construction / joinery language

It began with a flash of inspiration. It was 1825 in the Somerset village of Street and James Clark was busy working at the tannery owned by his brother, Cyrus. Among the sheepskin rugs, the off-cuts and cast-offs were piling up when James had a brainwave: “Slippers!”. And the rest, as they say, is history.
