QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Certificate/degree in health, business, marketing or equivalent knowledge with relevant experience.
Background:
- Minimum of five years’ relevant management experience, preferably in a retirement residence and/or in a regional role;
- Must have a high degree of interpersonal skill which would enable the incumbent to deal successfully with residents, their families, staff, stakeholders;
- Most possess strong leadership skills;
- Must have good understanding of all relevant Provincial and Federal Acts and Regulations. i.e. RHA, ESA, Human Rights Code, Health Discipline Act., etc.
Personal Requirements:
- Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Capable of adapting to different situations and change
- Keen interest in working with seniors
FUNCTIONS:
- Embraces and supports Riverstone’s vision, mission and values
- Visits communities frequently to assist in meeting Riverstone and community expectations, such as but not limited to compliance, resident relations, customer service, food quality, building maintenance with a focus on continuous improvement
- Assist in all processes, procedures and documentation adheres to RHRA and Riverstone standards and corporate policies
- Assists with financials for each community such as forecasting major expenses, cost analysis, identifying areas of improvement and works with GM with action plans.
- Assist in developing short and long term goals for each community
- Resolving day-to-day challenges
- Assists GMs with managing any complaints
- Maintains first-hand knowledge of all Riverstone communities; proactively identifying risk and assist in resolving issues in timely manner
- Oversee federal, provincial and municipal inspections; ensures responses to areas of non-compliance and recommendations
- Assists working groups of FSM, ESM and OM to design and implement solutions and maintain effective communication and productive working relationships, while increasing profitability. Holds regular meetings with these groups to share information, obtain feedback and provide a forum for continuous improvement;
- Assists in developing and executing plans to meet or exceed targeted levels of positive employee engagement and employee experience; be a role model for engaging leadership
- Assist in maintaining proper staffing levels in each community
- Collaborate with all departments to optimize operational excellence, sustainable practices and value creation for all our communities
- Assists each community in developing and implementing action plans following the completion of the annual Resident Satisfaction survey, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Assists each community in developing and implementing action plans, following the completion of the annual employee engagement survey, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Under the direction of the RDO, liaises on a regular basis with all communities on corporate strategies, initiatives and directives
- Ensures that all communities are following Riverstone’s format and procedures
- In absence of GM, acts as a General Manager on-call onsite.
- Reports and communicates to RDO
