The Materials Delivery unit is responsible for materials delivery programs, services and initiatives within and across the Ottawa Public Library (OPL), including: efficient and reliable sorting of library materials and automated sorting system functions; timely delivery of internal and contracted library materials to support the OPL’s 33 Branches, mobile operations and customer service; and daily delivery of internal mail and small moves of furniture and equipment between branches as required.
You are responsible for organizing, sorting and staging library books and other materials; operating the Automated Materials Handling (AMH) equipment; and assisting in the loading/unloading of materials delivery vehicles.
Work is performed within the context of the policies and framework of the Library corporate culture as embodied in the Mission Statement, Core Values, Customer Experience Guidelines and the Canadian Federation of Library Association position statements on Intellectual Freedom and Diversity and Inclusion, with particular emphasis on providing customer service excellence.
Completion of Grade 9
Less than 6 months of experience in organizing and staging materials in a warehouse environment
