ABOUT THIS JOB

The Information Governance Systems Analyst position at the City of Tucson's Information Technology Department supports the creation, management, and governance of digital information. This position combines technical expertise, information architecture, and content strategy to develop standards and best practices for internal and public-facing platforms. The role applies independent judgment to improve user experience across Microsoft 365 and SharePoint.

Work is performed under the supervision of the IT Manager. This position does not supervise. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary technical owner for Microsoft 365 (MS365)information governance capabilities, including data lifecycle, security, sensitivity labels, and Purview compliance tools.

  • Analyzes, establishes, and maintains cohesive enterprise-wide standards for knowledge management, content lifecycle, metadata structure, and digital record organization.

  • Integrates library sciences and information management principles into MS365 content strategies.

  • Leads organization-wide initiatives to improve information discoverability, accessibility, and consistency.

  • Develops SharePoint Online sites, oversees site architecture, permissions, and metadata, and identifies opportunities to modernize legacy sites and workflows using Power Platform and automation.

  • Promotes a unified user experience across intranet and public-facing sites, ensuring consistency, clarity, and accessibility

  • Develops designs standards for navigation, content layout, and digital engagement.

  • Leads and supports the migration of sites and content from Granicus Government Cloud solutions to SharePoint Online.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Experience: Three (3) years of relevant experience

*Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

A valid and unrestricted driver’s license with two (2) years of licensed driving is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

3+ years administering Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Purview, or related digital collaboration and governance platforms.

Strong understanding of information architecture, metadata, taxonomy, content lifecycle management, or library sciences principles.

Experience with MS Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate).

Microsoft or records management certifications.

Experience in local government or public-sector digital services.

Experience migrating content from Granicus Government Cloud to SharePoint Online.
