About this role

Salary Range: $56,102.45 - $85,841.60

 

Works under the direction of the Virtual Digital Branch Manager to oversee the operation of the library's core application, which is used to catalog books and facilitate customer checkouts. Ensures proper and efficient use of the application, which includes the main system in the City Data Center, staff desktop application, public catalog, analytics tool, mobile inventory app, and more. Coordinates with the IT Division and the vendors to troubleshoot issues. Produces scheduled and on-demand reports to support collection maintenance, including weeding and locating lost items. Maintains an accurate, up-to-date catalog of over 1,000,000 items across 18 locations, ensuring reliability for customers. Prepares presentations, develops training manuals, and conducts training sessions on various topics related to the Integrated Library System (ILS) to educate and support staff. Collects system-wide statistics to monitor library performance and operations. Plans and implements upgrades to various applications. Coordinates with the IT division, the vendor, library staff, and customers to ensure a smooth upgrade process. Analyzes and implements new features following upgrades to improve or modify procedures to ensure that changes are thoroughly reviewed to avoid any unintended consequences. Prepares and submits reports to entities such as the State of Tennessee, the American Library Association, and the Public Library Association.to ensures data accuracy and compliance with reporting requirements. Compiles information to support library benchmarking and decision-making processes. Possesses a broad and deep understanding of library operations, including circulation practices, cataloging standards, acquisitions, and other key areas. Maintains knowledge of nearly all roles within the library system to support effective operations.
