Job Description:
In this role, you will support Jet Vactor Operators in the cleaning of drainage structures and pipes throughout the City.
Examples of Duties:
- Assist Jet Vactor Operator:
- clean pipes and drains throughout the city in a safe and effective manner
- check the work area for proper clearance from vehicles, property, and overhead utilities
- complete daily work orders, inspect, and document completed work in daily reports to the foreman
- daily maintenance on equipment and documents inspections both pre- and post- work to ensure the truck and vacuum body are in acceptable working order, report issues to the shop immediately
- Learn truck settings and watch monitoring system for proper water flow and pressure
- Utilize the correct cleaning tips and ensure proper water pressure and flow is regulated as appropriate for the cleaning tip selected.
- May respond to emergency situations after-hours as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current driver’s license,
- Must possess South Carolina Commercial Driver’s License – Class B within 1 year of hire.
Other Necessary Requirements:
- May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
- In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City’s needs.
