Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing plus two years of experience in clinic, hospital and/or public health nursing.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
License to practice nursing in the State of Texas.
Must have current healthcare provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course completion card and will be required to maintain a current certification during employment.
Position Overview:
This position will provide direct care/health services in the Refugee Clinic and the TB Clinic.
For Refugee Clinic you will perform the following:
Vital signs
Visual acuity
Phlebotomy for all ages
Order lab tests in laboratories websites and document the order in eCW
Obtain medical history on Pre-screen
Urine test for HCG
O & P container make-up, administer
Assess vaccine records, verify if patient has records and or received vaccines lately
Administer vaccines to all ages
Document visit and vaccines given in the client chart and in eCW
Gather the client charts to be reviewed by manager and as a support for the monthly inventory
Utilize interpreter services
Administrative
Order vaccines through VFC
Order vaccines through VFC
Order vaccines through Refugee Grant
MD follow-up of test results – call backs as needed for syphilis, chlamydia, HIV – schedule for follow up appts.

Monitor, maintain, review expiration dates and update the emergency kit medications and supplies
Monitor and review that the defibrillator is working properly, and the pads are up to date.
For TB Clinic you will perform the following:
Care manage patients suspected of LTBI or diagnosed with latent tuberculosis to include obtaining and evaluating medical history, performing patient assessments, collecting appropriate lab specimens, reviewing lab results, administering medication and consulting/collaborating with the physician and other team members.
Provide treatment, education, health counseling and appropriate referrals to LTBI clinic clients.
Identify actual and potential healthcare needs of patients, as well as healthcare access or treatment barriers.
This position will require skills in establishing effective and constrictive relationships with patients, families, physicians, coworkers and the general public.
This position will require skills in effective oral and written communication, educating and counseling patients.
This position will perform data entry duties as needed to include monthly performance measure reports.
