About Austin-Bergstrom International Airport
Airport Systems Maintenance Coordinator
Under limited supervision, this position plans, coordinates work, and leads personnel in the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of airport systems and operational needs of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) facilities and infrastructure.
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
Coordinates, plans, organizes, and leads crews in the completion of assigned work orders including making materials ready, performing quality inspections, preparing system outage requests, preparing as-built mark-up, and other tasks as necessary.
Performs field and facility investigations and inspections to ensure maintenance, construction, and repairs activities comply with all governing bodies and jurisdictions having authority, and to assess necessary routine and preventative maintenance needs.
Tracks and requests needed trade and construction permits to ensure proper agencies are notified of all construction and maintenance activities.
Liaises between the Department of Aviation (DOA) maintenance divisions and AUS stakeholders on maintenance activities and requests.
Ensures compliance with all Federal, State, City, and Local regulation, policies, procedures, and ordinances.
Monitors budget and ensures maintenance parts are within established budgetary goals; assists with budget preparation and forecasting.
Communicates with leadership regarding work order planning and status and other issues as needed.
Assists in monitoring Asset Management System (AMS), providing quality assurance review of maintenance and repair activities, and updates the work order database.
Assists with performing contract and procurement duties. Recommends major purchases and expenditures; develops specifications for product price and services; monitors contracts and contractor compliance; assists with developing and requisitioning of replacement parts; and assists management in the process of purchasing and retiring surplus capital equipment.
Calculates figures and compiles data and information for reports, cost estimates, and asset life cycle.
Provides leadership, work assignments, evaluation, training, and guidance to others.
Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
Knowledge of all governmental regulations such as Transportation Security Administration (TSA), EPA, TNRCC, OSHA, FAA, TCEQ, NEC, FDA, TDLR, and other guidelines governing the regulations addressing the operation, maintenance, and upkeep of commercial airports.

Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus five (5) years of experience in diagnostics, repair, testing, maintenance, or installation of equipment and systems, including two (2) years of experience which were in the Aviation industry.
Valid State of Texas Class C Driver License.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master Plumber License or the ability to obtain within 6 months
Experience with plumbing maintenance in a large commercial facility
Experience with a Computerized Maintenance System (CMMS)
Under limited supervision, this position plans, coordinates work, and leads plumbing personnel in the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of airport plumbing systems and operational needs of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) facilities and infrastructure.
Assessment:
A skills assessment will be required for this position.
Salary Range:
$34.46-$43.41
Driver’s Requirement:
This position must travel between various locations as part of the regular job duties and the individual will be required to drive a City vehicle. Position will also be required to drive on the AOA.
This position requires a Valid Texas Class C Driver License or the ability to acquire one by your hire date. External New Hires must meet the City of Austin’s Driver Record Evaluation (DRE) requisite. To be considered for a driving position, applicants cannot have more than three moving violations or a total of six Driver Record Evaluation points within a period of thirty-six (36) months. Job Offer is contingent on having a driving record that meets the City’s Driver Record Evaluation Standards.
Essential Personnel:
This position is categorized as essential personnel. Essential personnel are required to come to work during emergencies or bad weather at the airport if they are scheduled to work and, in some cases, when they are not scheduled.
