About this role

Citizens' equity research department covers 400+ public companies and provides institutional clients with comprehensive industry knowledge, unique insight and actionable information. Our senior research analysts are charged with developing proprietary investment themes, anticipating secular and cyclical changes and producing action-oriented reports. Citizens follows companies in seven broad growth industries: Technology, Healthcare, Financial Services, Consumer, Industrial , Digital Infrastructure and Real Estate—and produces specialized equity research that enables investors to understand and invest in complicated growth stocks profitably.

We are seeking an VP to join our Financial Services & Fin Tech Research Team in New York. The VP Research will be involved in all facets of research activities and will play an integral role supporting the coverage of more than 40 publicly traded Financial Services & Fin Tech companies, communicating with public investors, presenting to the Citizens institutional equity salesforce and interacting with company executives, venture capital firms and private equity firms.

The specific responsibilities of the VP include, but are not limited to, writing research reports, financial analysis and modeling, conducting industry and company-specific research, coordinating the various processes involved in generating actionable, proprietary Financial Services & Fin Tech research.

Primary responsibilities include

  • Create and maintain financial models
  • Perform financial analysis and due diligence
  • Write company specific and thematic investment-driven research reports
  • Conduct research from the primary literature, proprietary databases, tailored industry surveys
  • Attend meetings with management teams and investor conferences
  • Analyze and update investment themes and ideas across the Internet sector
  • Respond to requests from institutional sales force and from institutional clients
  • Ultimately publish on/cover companies

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • 3-4 years of equity research experience in the Financial Services & Fin Tech Sector
  • Live in, or ability to relocate to, New York
  • High level of proficiency with Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and team working skills
  • Superior work ethic

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40+
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 

Pay Transparency 

The salary range for this position is $175,000 - $200,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
