About this role

Role Overview:

This role is responsible for delivering actionable insights and robust reporting to support strategic decision-making at the Commercial level as well as across underwriting and portfolio management functions. The position supports the Bank’s capital allocation strategy and focuses on profitability analysis, sector and industry analysis, risk monitoring, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance at both deal and line-of-business levels.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Analysis & Profitability

  • Conduct sector specific, deal-level and line-of-business profitability assessments to inform strategic decisions.
  • Provide financial, strategic, sales/marketing, and operational insights to optimize business performance and resource allocation.
  • Draw and communicate concise conclusions and recommendations.

2. Portfolio Risk Reporting & Monitoring

  • Develop and maintain risk dashboards to monitor portfolio health and emerging risk trends. Partner with technology, as applicable, to provide business requirements for existing platforms and new technology solutions.
  • Ensure timely reporting of risk metrics to support governance and regulatory requirements.
  • Build retrospective analysis on portfolio initiatives, and scenario/abstractions for portfolio to understand the impact of externalities and efficacy of bank internal policies/strategies.
  • Timely reporting on risk and performance metrics

3. Underwriting & Pipeline Management

  • Track account gearing, cycle time, and pipeline performance for underwriting and portfolio management teams.
  • Monitor KPIs and OKRs to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Ad hoc reporting for internal and external stakeholders.

4. Data Visualization & Insights

  • Design and deliver intuitive dashboards and visualizations for senior leadership.
  • Translate complex data into actionable insights for capital allocation and strategic planning. 
  • Develop data roadmap to implement and manage to garner the insights needed to monitor strategic initiatives.

5. Capital Allocation Support

  • Provide analytical support for capital allocation decisions across lines of business.
  • Model scenarios to optimize returns and manage risk exposure.
  • Abstraction of strategic initiatives to evaluate best fit initiatives to drive profitability and risk balance. 

6. Data Governance & Quality

  • Maintain data cleanliness and integrity across reporting systems. Ongoing evaluation of existing data structures and reports to ensure accuracy and tracking of profitability, risk and strategic initiatives. 
  • Implement controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal and external standards.

7. Regulatory & Risk Issue Resolution

  • Support resolution of risk-related issues and respond to regulatory inquiries.
  • Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks.
  • Ad hoc requests and reporting management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in underwriting, portfolio management, or financial analytics.
  • Strong proficiency in report generation and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) and advanced Excel, Data Mart, Deal Cloud, Precision Lender, and Salesforce. 
  • Strong proficiency and experience with database query building and reporting. Experience with SQL, SQOOL, Snowflake, MDM, and enterprise data hierarchies. 
  • Deep understanding of US banking risk management principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to create new reporting or processes in alignment with strategic objectives
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $140,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus.  Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, relevant skills, and experience.
