About this role

As the Scrum Master, you will utilize agile frameworks to create quality product delivery and continuous product and process improvement. You work with a cross-functional team to help support product vision, goals and strategized solutions. Daily work will include story writing, backlog maintenance, prioritization, and planning. You will utilize metrics and data visualization to report progress, provide data for estimation and planning, and create practical forecasts for sprints and releases, as well as use data analysis to identify areas of opportunity or efficiency gains. You will serve as a point of escalation relating to issues of pod performance. This role will work on a team that maintains a focus on quality and continuous delivery of value, while proactively identifying and removing impediments and recommending solutions. 

 

The Scrum Master will be responsible for:

  • Maintains focus on quality and continuous delivery of business value. 
  • Accountable for the team’s effectiveness
  • Proactively identifies and recommends solutions to remove impediments.
  • Facilitate and participate in all scrum events  - daily scrum, sprint review, sprint planning, sprint retrospective. Ensure all events take place at the same day/time as agreed by the team.
  • Ensure teams are adopting and adhering to team operating norms and/or other practices e.g. definition of ready, definition of done
  • Assist the product owner (Experience owner) in establishing and maintaining the product backlog.
  • Collaborate with other scrum master’s in support of implementing better practices across the organization
  • Protect the team from work not aligned with the team’s priorities and/or sprint goal.
  • Ensure continuous improvements are identified, implemented and measured by the team.
  • Effectively use metrics and data visualization to report progress and create practical forecasts to assist in decision making. Utilizes team feedback and analyzes data (quality, delivery rate, etc) to identify areas of opportunity and improve team efficiency and delivery.
  • Coach and facilitate teams in the areas of story writing, backlog maintenance, prioritization and planning. Support creation and prioritization of program-level features and supporting roadmaps. 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Strong knowledge of agile and the various delivery frameworks (scrum, scrumban, kanban).
  • Demonstrated leadership, facilitation, training and coaching skills (including how to use powerful questions).
  • Act as the escalation point and ensure the team identifies risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies in the portfolio, collaborating to develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to identify and use data to draw inferences to help drive continuous improvements.
  • Self-starter, strong personal accountability
  • Experience using tools like JIRA, Confluence, MS Products e.g.Teams, Sharepoint.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills to work cross-functionally with security, compliance, and IT teams.
  • General knowledge of cybersecurity principles.
  • Experience working individually as well as a member of a team

  • Good interpersonal skills necessary for business partner relationships within and outside the organization
  • Proven organizational skills

 

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years practicing Scrum Master
  • Certified Scrum Master Required
  • Agile Facilitation and Coaching certifications a plus

Pay Transparency 

The salary range for this position is $97,026 - $161,710 per year. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
