With our strong data visualization reports, this position will play a key role partnering with our Technical Development and business stakeholders to enable analytics for long term success.

About the role

We are looking for a skilled BI Architect with a collaborative, “can-do” attitude and strong focus on BI governance to join our growing analytics team. The one who is committed & strives with determination and motivation to make their team successful. A BI Architect who has experience implementing reporting solutions part of a greater data visualization strategy. This role is responsible for hands on ensuring overall BI governance architecture like RBAC, Security Protocols, Cost optimization, Quality and Audit mechanism of reports from enterprise business systems. This role will help drive Circle K’s next phase in the business journey by transforming robust data to achieve actionable business outcomes. In this role, you will act as BI administrator and maintain BI solutions, implement RBAC and deployment activities for the insightful dashboards, and establish best practices for BI governance, security, and quality across the organization primarily using Power BI and other reporting tools.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable and high-performance BI solutions to support reporting, analytics, and report integration needs

• Define and implement BI architecture standards, best practices, and governance principles

• Evaluate, select, and integrate BI tools and technologies (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlik, etc.)

• Set up and manage Power BI workspace permissions, usage monitoring, and security roles (Row-Level Security, etc.) with RBAC and managing licensing costs by ensuring governance compliance

• Ensure report quality, consistency, and security across BI platforms and provide mentorship to analysts

• Lead the design and development of data models (star/snowflake schemas) and data warehouse structures for the reporting purposes

• Having great hold on the report definitions, lineage, and documentation across the BI landscape

• Collaborate with business stakeholders and other technical team members, also monitor and enforce reporting quality standards across BI functions

• Write custom scripts to extract data from structured/semi-structured sources from data warehouse or BI Cubes or from Snowflake. Skilled in deployment, report consolidation, and enhancing report usability

• Provide clear documentation for delivered solutions and processes, integrating documentation with the appropriate corporate stakeholders

• Optimize DAX queries and Power BI performance for scalability and responsiveness

Job Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field

• Master’s degree preferred (MBA/MS Computer Science/M.Tech Computer Science, etc.)

Relevant Experience

• 7+ years of experience in BI engineering or data analytics, and in advance SQL Programming

• 2+ Years of proven experience in BI governance including BI administration, metadata management, and data quality frameworks

Technical Skills

• Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or equivalent Power BI certification

• Experience with tools like Microsoft Purview, Alation, Collibra, or similar governance platforms

• Knowledge of data governance, data security, and compliance standards

• Working Knowledge of Dev-Ops processes (CI/CD), Azure DevOps, Git/Jenkins version control tool, Power BI Administration, Data Quality tools, regulatory data compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)

• Hands-on experience in extracting data from databases like (Azure SQL DB, MySQL/, Cosmos DB etc.), Python/Unix shell Scripting

• Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)

Behavioural Skills

Knowledge

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI (including Power Query, DAX, dataflows, etc.)

• In-depth knowledge of relational database design, data warehousing and dimensional data modeling concepts. Also, self-starter and motivated with ability to work in a fast-paced development environment

• Strong hands-on experience with Python/Spark scripting and shell (Unix/Linux) scripting

• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and cloud data platforms (Azure, Snowflake, etc.) and their services like Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Analysis Services, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL DW/Synapse

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with Strong analytical abilities

• Proficiency across the environments, including DevOps, database server, GIT, Continuous Integration, unit-testing tool, and defect management tools
