You will own and maintain the enterprise analytics data model, ensuring scalability, accuracy, and alignment with business requirements.

What you’ll do to make a difference:

  • Analytics Architecture: Design and implement robust cloud-native data architectures and models that serve as the single source of truth for clinical and operational data.

  • Pipeline Engineering: Implement and maintain logic that transforms raw healthcare data (claims, EHR) utilized in reporting, and advanced analytics models.

  • API & Integration Strategy: Lead the engineering of high-throughput data exchanges using modern standards and APIs for internal and external partners.

  • Validation & Governance: Work closely with data advisors to test and validate pipelines and enforce rigorous data quality standards.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree Actuarial Science, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud platforms and modern data stacks.

  • 5+ years of functional leadership experience, including mentoring junior engineers and driving technical strategy.

You will use many the following tools, frameworks, and platforms daily with high proficiency:

  • Cloud & Data Platforms: AWS or Azure; Databricks.

  • Data Modeling: Relational, Dimension, Entity, Graph, Semantic

  • Data Analytics: SQL (Window functions, CTEs, Stored Procedures) & Python (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Duck DB).

  • Data Integration: FHIR, HL7, Kafka

  • Transformation & Orchestration: dbt (Data Build Tool); Prefect or Airflow

  • Workflow & DevOps: GitHub, Azure DevOps, and Jira.

You live and breathe the world of healthcare data and have exposure to many of the following terminologies, applications, and metrics:

  • Data Sources: Medical Claims, Rx/Pharmacy Claims, EHR/Clinical Data, ADT Feeds, Eligibility, Premium

  • Coding Standards: ICD-10, CPT, DRG, HCPCS, Revenue Codes, APC, NDC, RxNorm, POS, NPI, TIN, Taxonomy, RVU.

  • Risk & Quality: HEDIS, MIPS, eCQM, HCC

What Sets You Apart:

  • Analyst DNA: You have worked as an analyst, so you understand the frustration of messy data and build the clean, reliable tables you wish you had.

  • Collaborative Core: You view cross-functional partnerships (data engineering, product, and reporting) as key to success, ensuring infrastructure works seamlessly between groups.

  • Resilient Design: You create robust and adaptable data models that are flexible enough to evolve quickly with the business yet stable enough for enterprise reporting.

  • Documentation: You understand that analytics without documentation is incomplete, maintaining pristine data lineage and metric definitions.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
