What you'll be doing

CIBC’s Private Wealth Investment Strategy Group (ISG) supports our Wood Gundy Wealth-Advisory teams in a variety of ways. This includes management of proprietary equity and balanced portfolios, hosting calls, and contributing to reports on financial market themes. Your primary role as a summer Co-op student will be to contribute to our publication and portfolio update processes, with project-related opportunities to further expand into areas such as equity research.

 

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $50,840 to $59,350.

The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.

Important information

  • You must be currently enrolled in post-secondary education and returning to full-time studies to be eligible. However, you do not need to be in a registered Co-op program to be considered for a role.
  • Recruitment timeline: Applications review – January/February; Interviews – February; Offers – February/March

  • Strong Communications – You’ll be able to take complex concepts and present them in easy to understand written and graphical formats, utilizing spreadsheets, presentation software and web tools. You present your insights, translating them into meaningful observations for varying audience types.  You have strong verbal and presentation skills.

  • Cross Collaboration – You’ll engage with team members and business partners to achieve common goals. You are able to work with business stakeholders to gather requirements and develop a deeper understanding of the bank’s processes.
