JOB SUMMARY

The Surveillance Supervisor leads the daily operations of the Surveillance department and promotes a secure environment in accordance with company policies. The incumbent may be required to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises and directs the activities of surveillance staff during assigned shifts.
  • Provides guidance, support, and feedback to ensure satisfactory performance and adherence to established surveillance protocols.
  • Delegates duties and responsibilities to surveillance personnel based on operational needs to ensure adequate coverage of all areas.
  • Utilizes surveillance equipment to observe, report, and record procedural violations and activities that may be unusual, suspicious, or illegal.
  • Oversees the daily operation and maintenance of surveillance equipment and software systems, including CCTV cameras, digital video recorders, and monitors to maintain situational awareness.
  • Utilizes appropriate telephone and radio protocol to maintain communication as a central point of contact for security-related incidents and emergencies.
  • Coordinates the response to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, directing surveillance operators and security personnel to take appropriate actions and follow established protocols ensuring a safe and secure atmosphere/environment for guests and Team Members.
  • Monitors all company assets as well as property Team Members and guests for procedural violations.
  • Investigates, documents, and reviews all reports of incidents involving cheating, theft, fraud, or other security breaches to the appropriate personnel.
  • Coordinates surveillance investigation efforts with outside law enforcement agencies to assure proper handling of civil violations of patrons or Team Members; may occasionally appear in court with company attorneys to assist in criminal justice proceedings.
  • Implements and monitors emergency procedures to ensure prompt and safe handling of such emergencies as fire, flood, or bomb threats.
  • Adheres to all gaming policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines regarding surveillance operations to ensure confidentiality and ethical conduct.
  • Maintains knowledge of gaming laws, regulations, and company policies to ensure adherence to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Notifies department leaders, and where appropriate applicable gaming regulatory agencies, upon detection of illegal activities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Effective leadership skills in surveillance operational effectiveness.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and observational skills in analyzing video footage.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including knowledge of video surveillance software, database management, and basic networking concepts.
  • Ability to multitask and respond to telephone and radio traffic.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Vocational or technical certifications in related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in supervisory or leadership roles in surveillance or related field.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Must obtain and maintain valid Virginia Racing Commission License.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

  • The Team Member will be required to sit and remain stationary for extended periods of time.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is frequently required to sit or stand; walk; use hands to finger reach, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • The Team Member may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • The Team Member may be required to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • The work environment may vary in levels of crowds, noise, and smoke, depending on the assigned station and customer volume.
