JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the sale of daily race programs to guests while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining accurate financial transactions during live racing events. This is a seasonal position for the March race meet at Colonial Downs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sells daily race programs to guests during live race days.
  • Provides excellent customer service to internal and external guests at all times.
  • Demonstrates the #AddLife culture in all interactions with guests and Team Members.
  • Assists guests with questions or concerns in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Maintains accuracy in all financial transactions and is accountable for funds at assigned workstation.
  • Projects a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information in accordance with Company policy and state regulations.
  • Resolves issues within the scope of authority and escalates concerns beyond that scope to the supervisor.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of relevant activities or operational concerns.
  • Attends required training sessions and meetings as scheduled.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle cash and maintain accurate transaction records.
  • Ability to resolve guest concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a team.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior customer service or sales experience preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Must be available to work all live race days.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Virginia Racing Commission racing license.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

  • The Team Member will be required to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Frequent use of hands for handling race programs and cash transactions.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and move throughout assigned areas.
  • May be required to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
  • May be required to work long hours, including weekends and holidays, based on live racing schedules.
  • Noise levels may vary from moderate to loud during live racing events.
