JOB SUMMARY

Heavy Duty Housekeepers are responsible to maintain the cleanliness of the hotel/casino property and also have heavy duty cleaning responsibilities, both inside and out. In addition, provide outstanding customer service and promote a positive, friendly attitude at all times.

Successful candidates must be at least 18 years of age, and if between the ages of 18-21, must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate licensing from the Maine Gaming Commission. Successful candidates must be able to work independently or in team scenarios, sometimes during crowded conditions and demonstrate the ability to interact positively with the public.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Performs in-depth, detailed cleaning tasks outside of the regular housekeeping routine.
2. Cleans carpets, including the use of carpet extracting equipment.
3. Performs high dusting tasks in the rafters, light fixtures, and other hard-to-reach areas using ladders and a hydraulic lift.
4. Cleans and polishes floors, using an autoscrubber.
5. Performs annual/ semi-annual floor care, including stripping and waxing of floors.
6. Vacuums carpet areas with a high-level of detail.
7. Works outdoors patrolling the parking lots and walkways picking up refuse and debris.
8. Must be detail-oriented and efficient, with good time-management skills.
9. Observes and reports on conditions that require attention and/or repair.
10. Performs other jobs assigned as directed by management.
11. Practices acceptable grooming and uniform standards. Overall appearance is to be professional at all times.
12. Work is performed in the early morning hours from 2am- 10:30am, M-F.                                                                                                                                                                   

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

The work requires some physical exertion, such as being able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. At other times, the work requires some physical exertion such as climbing, reaching, pushing and pulling. May need to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force
frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to work on hands and knees, on ladders and lifts with heights varying between 3’-20’, and in bending and crouching positions. The work environment is one with possible exposure to prolonged loud noise and sometimes close quarters.
