Job Details

ChristianaCare is looking to hire a full time Surgical Scheduler II for our Surgical Services located in at Wilmington Hospital in the Gateway building.

As a surgical scheduler you would schedule patients for surgery, tests, referrals, medical and cardiac clearance, pre-op tests and review meds and health history as needed.

This role is split between heavy phone calls and also patient facing in the office to schedule surgeries.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30p

Duties / Responsibilities:

Responsible for scheduling all surgical and imaging procedures for Surgical Services and obtaining necessary insurance referrals and authorizations. Provides non-clinical preoperative instructions, places surgical reminder calls, and maintains tracking systems to ensure completion of preoperative clearances and testing. Interacts daily with physicians, physician offices, Christiana Care departments, patients, and families while adhering to all organizational and departmental policies, including safety, infection control, and compliance standards. Performs clerical duties as needed and reports any unsafe conditions promptly to maintain a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of three years related medical office experience with knowledge of computer scheduling for multiple providers.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Hourly Pay Range: $21.03 - $31.54

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
