The Wilmington Intensive Care Unit (WICU) team up at the Wilmington Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to work 36 hours per week - Rotating shifts - Night and Day Shift. Weekends and Holidays are per the department guidelines. typical shift is 7p-7a & 7a - 7p

Responsibilities

In this role you will work closely with the hospitalists, specialty consultants and the transitional nursing staff. You will use your expertise in assessing a patient’s physical and emotional status, past health history, health practices, and both the patient’s and the family’s knowledge of their disease and its treatment. As a transitional nurse you will be engaging in a relationship based care model, building relationships with patients and families as well as with your peers, guided by our values of excellence and love.

You will manage a team of 3 to 4 medical or surgical patients per shift and work with the multidisciplinary team to achieve realistic healthcare goals for the patient and their family.

You will plan your nursing care to promote patient wellness and provide patients and their families with information related to their disease process and patient education.

In addition, you will closely monitor patients, manage emergencies and provide ongoing support and education to the patient and their family.

Requirements

  • BSN required

  • Commitment to obtaining BSN within three years from date of hire can be considered with relevant experience

  • Registered Nurse with 2 years of experience; telemetry experience a plus

  • BLS required

  • ACLS preferred. Must commitment to obtaining ACLS within 6 months of hire

  • Progressive Care or Gerontology Certification preferred

Hourly Pay Range: $41.28 - $66.05

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
