ChristianaCare is hiring a full time Medical Assistant II for a Supportive Palliative practice in Newark, DE.
As a medical assistant, you will assist providers in patient examinations and treatments, perform clinical and clerical duties, and deliver quality patient care through virtual and on-site appointments.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30p
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Medical Assistant II will greet and support patients both virtually and on-site within the practice, preparing them for on-site visits, performing point of care testing, injections, medication administration, and EKGs, assisting clinicians with examinations and procedures, preparing exam/treatment rooms with necessary supplies and equipment, completing patient-specific paperwork, handling patient call backs, scheduling stat tests, procedures, and surgeries, performing quality control on POCT equipment, providing documentation assistance for providers, troubleshooting patient issues with video visits, and supporting patients in joining ChristianaCare's Patient Portal. The Medical Assistant II also performs other related duties as required, adhering to departmental safety rules and practices, and reporting any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations to the supervisor.

Education Requirements:
High School Graduate or GED required.
A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program and hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) or obtain within three months of hire.
Two years’ experience as a Medical Assistant, is required, three years’ is preferred.
