About This Position

ChristianaCare is searching for a self-sufficient individual to primarily manage all aspects of Continuing Medical Education (CME) events. This role will also manage the CME Office, including programs and projects to ensure all compliance and regulatory standards with the ACCME (Accreditation Council of Continuing Medical Education) are met. The Manager will serve as an institutional resource to all medical staff and departments regarding accreditation, CME activity coordination, monitoring, reporting and other needs of the adult learner.

PLEASE NOTE: A strong background in event planning is paramount to this role.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

  • Manages all aspects of CME Planning Committee which includes engaging Medical Faculty and staff experts on innovative approaches for content delivery.
  • Manages entire application process to ensure meeting established deadlines, milestones and release dates.
  • Provide guidance/guidelines to planning directors and faculty to navigate through CME required pre and post activity documentation to support ACCME compliance.
  • Manages all aspects of on-site/off-site/virtual hosting of CME events as appropriate. Marketing, scheduling, set-up of all CME meetings and creation of pre-registration packages, onsite registration; including but not limited to, sign-in sheets, PowerPoint presentations, faculty lists, evaluation forms, disclosure forms, physician bios and other CME program material as deemed necessary.
  • Manages poster production (printing) for system-wide needs.
  • Collaborates with External Affairs and external vendors for marketing and promotional materials.
  • Responsibilities include investigate and ultimately determine the most effective and reliable avenues to promote conferences, which includes working with graphic designers, printing companies, mail houses/postal services.
  • Liaison between Medical Society of Delaware and educational recipients.
  • Prepares preliminary program budgets and ensure expenditures are within budget.
  • Manages and negotiates all contracts, written and verbal, associated with a conference.
  • Oversight of all internal and external commercial support, which allows for funding for CME programs.
  • Oversight includes working with planning committee members to identify possible sources of funding to support activities, compliance with necessary paperwork/grant applications and ensuring all procedures comply with ACCME criteria and standards.
  • Makes decisions regarding event planning, such as determining the format (virtual or in-person), how to market the event, changing vendors, how much to charge to attend the event, and the honorarium payment.

Education and experience requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field required.

2 – 3 years of experience should include a combination of continuing medical education coordination (preferred) and exposure to education event planning (required).

Annual Compensation Range $63,107.20 - $100,984.00

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
