We are seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager - 3B Medical - Christiana Hospital to support the Nurse Manager in the overall administrative direction for the clinical practice of nursing and the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective care for all patients and families associated with this patient care unit. Shares 24-hour responsibility and accountability for all aspects of daily operations with the Nurse Manager.

Christiana 3B Medical is recruiting for the position of Assistant Nurse Manager. This is a medical inpatient unit located on the 3rd floor at Christiana Hospital. Shift Requirement is rotating Day/Evening/Midnight shifts - will be discussed further. Nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage per the guidelines of the department. This position seeks a motivated RN who will assist with administrative direction for clinical practice and efficient care delivery. The position will share 24-hour accountability and responsibility for all aspects of daily operations with the Nurse Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • In this role, you will assist the Nurse Manager in the overall administrative direction for the clinical practice of nursing and delivery of high-quality and efficient care to all patients utilizing the services of this area.
  • Shares 24-hour responsibility and accountability for all aspects of daily operational activity.
  • Directly supervises nursing and technical personnel: Assesses the proficiency of staff, oversees daily staffing and scheduling needs of the department, evaluates staff performance, and Counsels staff members when performance issues are identified.
  • Participates in all hiring, promotion, salary adjustment, and termination decisions. Functions as a highly transparent role model, demonstrating quality expertise and professional behaviors that support the professional development of staff and the strategic goals of CCHS.
  • Identifies and develops strategies to improve the overall knowledge base and professionalism of staff.
  • Directs, mentors, and supports all levels of staff on the floor.
  • Identifies potential future leaders and engages in succession planning.
  • Analyzes administrative and operational functions; implements appropriate changes and system-wide improvements.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Completed a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
  • Master’s Degree in a nursing, healthcare or business management field required or currently enrolled to be obtained within 5 years of promotion into position.
  • If no BSN, Master’s degree in nursing is required.
  • 3-5 years appropriate clinical and leadership experience in area or specialty.

Annual Compensation Range $110,177.60 - $176,280.00

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
