Job Summary

This position is a part time role. The schedule will be 3–8-hour shifts. Starting time may vary from 7am or 3pm depending on the needs of the unit. The Unit Assistant provides clerical, receptionist, and concierge support to the inpatient unit, charge nurse, and staff. While working collaboratively with nursing staff, effectively communicates and assists with patient and family needs. The Unit Assistant provides exceptional family centered customer service by promptly greeting and assisting all staff, patients, family members, and visitors with courtesy, concern and respect.

Pay Range

Minimum $20.94 Midpoint $27.73 Maximum $34.54

Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience

Required: Previous administrative work experience.

Preferred: Previous work experience in health care environment.

Education

Required: High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent.

Specialized Skills

Required: Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure. Able to communicate effectively in English both written and verbal. Ability to follow computer downtime procedures. Ability to prioritize assigned tasks and meet all expectations for the completion of assigned roles. Effective interpersonal communication skills. Ability to consistently function in an environment that includes varying unpredictable or crisis situations. Able to think critically; work independently; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail.

Preferred: Bilingual

Licensure

Required: Basic Life Support (BLS); Comprehensive Crisis Management
