Job Summary

At CHOC/Rady’s, we are transforming the healthcare experience through responsible AI. We’re building cutting-edge chatbot and concierge platforms, as well as intuitive interfaces for our ML models and data products that empower clinicians, staff, and patients. We’re seeking a Generative AI Frontend Engineer to bring these experiences to life through elegant, accessible, and performant UIs.
This is a unique opportunity to shape how AI is experienced in pediatric healthcare, working closely with our Data Science, Business and Clinical Operations teams.

Pay Range

Minimum $110,094 Midpoint $145,870 Maximum $181,626

Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience

Required: Minimum of three years of experience developing front-end applications using modern frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue).

Education

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field

Training

• Required:

  • Familiarity with design systems, UI frameworks, and accessibility (WCAG/ARIA).
  • Strong experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and front-end/backend integration.
  • Experience using version control (e.g., Git) and agile development practices.
  • Experience deploying apps using containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Preferred:

  • Solid understanding of frontend security and authentication best practices.
  • Experience working with machine learning and GenAI models applications (e.g., AWS and Azure AI marketplaces).

Specialized Skills

Required: Effective communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical ideas to cross-disciplinary internal and external stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (e.g., FHIR, HL7).
  • Experience integrating with Epic or Cerner platforms.
  • Exposure to MLOps, data visualization libraries (e.g., Plotly, D3.js), or analytics tools like Tableau or Streamlit.
  • Understanding of HIPAA, PHI handling, and secure data workflows in healthcare environments.
